Evangelizzazione (settimana n. 3)

Ciao, sono Brady e faccio parte dello staff della scuola di discepolato (SDD) qui a Pescara. Mia moglie, Kaylyn e io veniamo da Washington negli Stati Uniti. Ho fatto la mia SDD a Kona nelle Hawaii nel 2005. In quel tempo Dio mi ha parlato molto e mi ha dato modo di conoscere grandi amici (due dei quali sono qui a Pescara. Beto e Raquel, che è la direttrice della nostra scuola). Mentre ero a Kona, ho preso più a cuore le nazioni e le persone di tutte le nazionalità. Dio mi ha dato una visione di una mappa con i confini politici che si elevavano come muraglie tra le nazioni.. Queste mura impedivano alle persone provenienti da diverse nazioni di interagire e anche di mostrare l'amore di Dio l'uno all'altro . Quando Dio smantellò le mura e mi diede la possibilità di vedere la gente come la vede Lui. Gli uomini Dio li vede tutti come suoi figli, piuttosto che britannici, brasiliani, americani o del Mozambico! Attraverso questa visione, Dio mi ha fatto capire che le diverse nazionalità sono importanti per lui, ma non quanto la consapevolezza che tutti gli uomini sono figli di Dio!

Tramite questa scuola, spero che Dio rafforzi anche il nostro matrimonio e ci dia una visione comune per il nostro ministero futuro.


Questa settimana la nostra insegnante era Enza, da una chiesa di Andria, in Italia. Ha insegnato sull'Evangelizzazione, mostrandoci molti modi pratici per parlare di Gesù a chi incontreremo quando faremo ministero pratico. Enza ha messo l'enfasi principalmente sul lavoro tra i bambini e l'evangelizzazione. Ci ha insegnato anche a fare animali con i palloncini e piccoli pezzi teatrali per interagire in modo dinamico con i bambini. Lei ci ha trasmesso la passione e la consapevolezza dell'importanza del ministero rivolto ai più piccoli visto che i bambini di oggi sono la chiesa di domani.


Durante il fine settimana, abbiamo avuto la possibilità di visitare una chiesa per aiutare durante il loro servizio di culto domenicale. Il nostro team ha preparato insegnamenti per la scuola domenicale degli adulti e dei bambini, un pezzo musicale, una testimonianza e una video: Uno dei nostri studenti ha predicato un messaggio molto ben preparato su come sentire la voce di Dio. E' stata una grande esperienza per il nostro gruppo. Noi dello staff siamo felici di avere degli studenti così pieni di talento per lavoro per il Signore!


La prossima settimana impareremo a conoscere il Cuore di Dio Padre, da Mike Oman. Mike è un uomo di grande fede e grandi storie. Restate sintonizzati per saperne di più.

Evangelism (week 3)

My name is Brady and I am on staff for this DTS here in Pescara. I come (with my wife, Kaylyn) from Washington State in the USA. I did my DTS in Kona Hawaii in 2005. Throughout my DTS God spoke great things into my life and introduced me to great friends (two of which are here in Pescara. Beto and Raquel. Raquel is our school leader). I developed a heart for the nations and people of all nationalities during my time in Kona, as God gave me a vision of a map with the political boundaries raising up like walls between each nation. These walls prevented people from different nations from interacting and showing each other God's love. God then dismantled the walls and I saw how he sees people. God sees all people as his children, rather than English or Brasilian or American or Mozambican! Through this vision God taught me that a person's nationality is important to him, but not as important as the realization that all people are children of God!

Through staffing this school, I hope to see God strengthen my marriage and inplant within my wife and I a vision for future ministry.

This week our teacher was Enza, from a church in Bari, Italy. She taught on Evangelism and gave our team many practical ways to show Jesus to people we will meet during our outreach times. Enza focussed mainly on childrens ministry and evangelism, teaching us how to create balloon animals, prepare dramas and interact in a dynamic way with children. Enza passed on to us, a passion and understanding of how important childrens ministry is, as the children of today are the church of tomorrow.

Over the weekend, we had a chance to visit a church to assist them with their Sunday worship service. Our team prepared Sunday School, adult teaching, music, a video and one of our students preached a very well prepared message on hearing God's voice. This was a great experience for our group and shows us as staff that we have a great and gifted team for ministry!

Next week we are learning about the Father Heart of God from Mike Oman. Mike is a man of great faith and great stories. Stay tuned for the next entry to hear more about Mike's teaching!

Il timore dell'Eterno – (settimana n. 2)

Mi chiamo Elis e vengo dal Brasile. Ho vissuto in tanti luoghi diversi, tra cui il Senegal, Kenya e Rwanda. Ho lavorato con Gioventù in Missione e con le Scuole di Discepolato per 10 anni e sono appena tornata in missione dopo un anno sabbatico.




Stiamo avendo un bel periodo qui a Pescara. Il posto è stupendo e tutta questa bellezza mi ispira! So che ispira certamente anche i nostri studenti! Ognuno di noi ha rimarcato come il mare ricorda loro di Dio e la bellezza di questo luogo ci fa comprendere come è Lui. Questo faceva parte del soggetto “Il timore dell'Eterno”, che abbiamo studiato questa settimana. Essere consapevoli di Dio in ogni momento ci aiuta a vivere la nostra vita per lui sapendo che le nostre scelte sono veramente importanti.




Il nostro insegnante era Braden Matson - Neozelandese, missionario a Bari. Lorenzo Montanaro era il suo traduttore. E' stato proprio bello e divertente averli tra noi!




Una delle attività più interessanti di questa settimana è stata guardare il DVD “Indescribability” (trad.: indescrivibile) di Louie Giglio che ha realmente influenzato tutti noi nel vedere la grandezza di Dio e la nostra impossibilità umana nel riuscire descrivere il modo in cui Dio ha creato l'universo!



La seconda metà di questa settimana avremo l'insegnamento sull' Evangelizzazione. Per la prima parte della settimana abbiamo dovuto cambiare un po' il programma perchè purtroppo uno dei nostri insegnanti dalla Norvegia non è potuto venire per via della nube vulcanica dall'Islanda che ha causato l'interruzione di tutti i voli. Roba da matti pensare a tutte queste persone bloccate negli aeroporti di tutto il continente.

Fear of the Lord (week 2)

My name is Elise and I come from Brazil. I've lived in many different places, including Senegal, Kenya and Rwanda. I've been working with YWAM and the DTS for 10 years and I'm just getting back into the mission after a sabbatical year.

The time here in Pescara has been good. The place is gorgeous and all this beauty inspires me! I know it certainly inspires our students! Everyone has mentioned how the sea reminds them of God and the beauty of this place keeps us aware of him. This was part of the subject Fear of the Lord that we studied this week. Being aware of God at all times helps us to live our lives for him knowing our choices really matter.

Our teacher was Braden Matson - from New Zealand but living in Bari - translated by Lorenzo Montanaro. We had a great time and a lot of fun with them!

One of the coolest things this week was watching the video 'Indescribable' by Louie Giglio and it really impacted us all to see God's greatness and 'indescribability' in how he created the universe!

This coming week's teaching was supposed to be on spiritual warfare (monday- tuesday ) and evangelism for the rest of the week. But, we will need to shuffle things around because the teacher that was supposed to teach in the beginning of the week, on spiritual warfare, won't be able to come. His flights were cancelled because of the volcano eruption in Iceland. Kind of crazy to think about all these people stranded in airports all over the continent.

Nel principio- SDD Pescara (settimana n. 1)

Mi chiamo Andrea, ho 20 anni e vengo dall'Italia e la Svizzera.

Questa Scuola di Discepolato (SDD) sarà per me, in primo luogo, un'esperienza personale. Infatti mi aspetto di imparare molte cose dalle situazioni che dovrò affrontare e tramite le responsabilità che mi saranno date.

Ho appena frequentato una SDD in Norvegia poco prima che cominciasse la scuola qui a Pescara. Essere studente è stato fantastico. Ogni aspetto della Scuola di Discepolato dovrebbe favorire l'apprendimento per portarci ad una relazione più intima e completa col nostro Signore.

La vita comunitaria a volte può essere stressante e difficile. D'altra parte, a volte, anzi spesso, la vita comunitaria può essere gratificante, ti apre gli occhi e contribuisce alla formazione degli studenti che la frequentano.

Tramite le lezioni si impara in modo più diretto. Insegnanti provenienti da diverse parti del mondo condividono un determinato soggetto per una settimana contribuendo tanto alla crescita della vita di chi ascolta.

Il primo maestro della SDD di Pescara era Beto Tavares, marito di Raquel, che è la nostra direttrice. Ci ha insegnato come sentire la voce di Dio e l'intercessione. Entrambi questi insegnamenti sono tipici di una SDD e credo che Beto abbia fatto del suo meglio. Ah! Sto scherzando. Ha fatto un buon lavoro e gli studenti e il personale erano incoraggiati a compiere nuovi passi nel loro rapporto con Dio e a intercedere per le nazioni.

La prima settimana di scuola è spesso la più stressante perché bisogna abituarsi alla vita comunitaria e al programma della scuola. Penso però che abbiamo un gruppo molto bello di studenti che farà e vedrà accadere cose grandi per il regno di Dio.

Un modo in cui Dio mi ha benedetto nel corso di questa settimana è stato l'apertura che i ragazzi avevano nel condividere e aiutare l'un l'altro nei nostri incontri di cellula. Brady e io, che guidiamo uno dei piccoli gruppi, siamo felici che non dobbiamo fare chissà quale sforzo per favorire l'apertura. La volontà che i ragazzi hanno di condividere è un elemento fondamentale che renderà molto piacevole lo svolgimento della nostra scuola

La prossima settimana il tema dell'insegnamento sarà il timore Dio. L'oratore viene dalla Nuova Zelanda ma al momento è missionario a Bari.

In the beginning-Pescara DTS (week 1)

My name is Andy, I am 20 years old and I come from the beautiful countries of Italy and Switzerland.
This DTS will be my first staffing experience, I expect to learn many things from situations I will face and responsibilities I will be given.

I finished studying in a DTS in Norway just before the Pescara DTS began. The DTS I was part of as a student was amazing for me. Every aspect of a DTS should be a learning experience that will (or should) bring you to a greater and more complete relationship and understanding of our Lord.
Community life can at times be stressful or horrible. On the other hand at times -maybe often- community life can be gratifying, eyeopening and definitely one of the many learning situations all DTS students will find themselves in.
The lectures are a more straight forward way of learning. Teachers from different parts of the world share on a certain subject for a week bringing much understanding and light into the listener's lives.
The Pescara DTS's first teacher was Beto Tavares, our school leader's dear husband. He taught on hearing the voice of God and intercession. Both these teachings are DTS classics and I believe Beto tried his best. Ha! I am joking, Beto did a good job and encouraged students and staff to take new steps in their relationship with God and to intercede for the nations.

The first week of DTS is often a stressful one because you aren't used to the schedule and community life but I think we have a very good group of students that will see and do many great things for the kingdom of God.

One way God blessed me during this week was the openness to share and help one another the DTS boys demonstrated during the our small group meeting. It is great for me and Brady, the other small group leader, that we don`t have to squeeze conversations out of people. The willingness the boys have to share is the first and probably most important thing to make the small groups a pleasant and useful part of this DTS.

Next week`s teaching will be the fear of the Lord, A man from New Zealand that is working in a church in Bari will be teaching on the subject.
