Omiletica e Adorazione (settimana n. 6)

Ciao a tutti, mi chiamo Lidia e sono tedesca. Ho 19 anni e ho finito il liceo l'anno scorso. Ho due care sorelle più grandi di me. Prima di venire a Pescara ho vissuto nel nord Italia, a Milano, per 10 mesi. Ho lavorato lì come ragazza alla pari in una famiglia italo- tedesca. Ho preso cura di due bambini. E' stata la mia prima esperienza lontano da casa. Adesso mi piace tanto essere qui in Italia, ma in un primo momento, a Milano, è stato difficile perché non parlavo la lingua e non avevo amici. Ho cercato dei cristiani e ho iniziato a visitare la base GIM a Milano. Lì mi hanno parlato della scuola di discepolato qui a Pescara. Ho sempre voluto frequentarne una e ho pensato che sarebbe stata una grande possibilità per me. Infatti ora eccomi qui.

Abbiamo avuto due argomenti durante questa settimana. I primi due giorni sono stati come predicare con Giuseppe Restivo e gli ultimi tre giorni sono stati sull'adorazione con Beto Tavares. E' stato davvero significativo per me quando Beto ci ha detto che adorare Dio non è solo cantare delle belle canzoni, ma piuttosto avvicinarci a Dio. E 'speciale lodare Dio per chi lui è veramente e rendersi conto di quanto grande egli sia. La cosa sorprendente della lode è che ci benedice quando lo facciamo. Seppure stiamo dando qualcosa a Dio, riceviamo benedizione allo stesso tempo.

Siamo tutti contenti perché domani abbiamo un giorno libero e ci voleva proprio:-)

Penso che la prossima settimana sarà davvero emozionante, il tema è la guerra spirituale, Sarà di nuovo Beto ad insegnarci. Venerdì prossimo avremo una serata speciale, ma il personale della scuola non ci veramente detto cosa accadrà, sembra essere un GRANDE SEGRETO!

Sono stato benedetta un sacco ieri (e credo che tutti coloro che sono venuti con me sono stati anche benedetti!). Siamo stati per una gita di un giorno a Roma. Era un mio grande desiderio poter visitare questa città, che è veramente meravigliosa. Sono così felice che ci siamo andati ieri. E' stato bello esplorare Roma. L'unica cosa negativa è che è piovuto tutto il tempo. Roma è una delle mie città preferite, è così bella!

Oh, questo è davvero importante: è cambiato il posto dove andremo durante la nostra fase pratica. Abbiamo avuto la possibilità di scegliere tra Sud Africa e Irlanda e abbiamo scelto l' IRLANDA!

Homiletics and Worship (week 6)

Hallo =), my name is Lydia and I´m from Germany. I´m 19 years old and I finished high school last year. I have two lovely older sisters. Before I came to Pescara I lived in the north of Italy, Milan, for 10 months. I worked there as an aupair in a half German half Italian family. I took care of two kids and it was the first time that I lived away from home. I really enjoyed this time, but at first it was hard because I didn't speak the language and I didn't have any friends. I looked for Christians and started visiting YWAM base in Milan. They told me also about the DTS here in Pescara. I always wanted to do one and thought that could be a great possibility.

We had two topics this week. The first two days were about preaching by Giuseppe Restivo and the last three days were about worship by Beto Tavares. What was really significant for me was when Beto said that worshiping god is not about singing nice songs, but bringing us closer to God. It is special to praise God for who he is and to realize how huge he is. The amazing thing about praise is that he blesses us back when we do it, we give but we also receive.

Everyone is happy because tomorrow we have a day off so we´re looking forward to aaaaaaaaall the free time that is waiting for us =).

I think the next week will be a really exciting, spiritual warfare will be the subject, Beto will be teaching us once again. On friday we will have a special evening but the staff didn´t really say what will be happening, it seems to be HUGH SECRET!

I was blessed a lot yesterday ( and I think everyone who came with me was also blessed!!). We were for a one-day trip at Rome. It has been a dream of mine to visit this town, it is really an amazing city. I´m so happy that we were there yesterday. We had a good time exploring Rome. The only negative thing was that it rained the whole time. Rome is one of my favorite cities, it is so beautiful!

Oh, this is really important: our outreach location changed. We had the choice between South Africa and Ireland aaaaaaaaaaand weee are going toooooooooooooooo IRELAND!

Il Filo a Piombo (settimana n. 5)

Mi chiamo Philippe, sono Francese residente in Italia da tanti anni. Con la mia età (47) sono il più anziano del gruppo di studenti.

Collaboro con Gioventù In Missione da ottobre 2008 e il Signore mi ha guidato a prendere questi mesi per approfondire la mia relazione con Lui. Insomma, non è mai troppo tardi!

L’insegnante della settimana passata era David de Carvalho, un Brasiliano che esercita il suo ministero nella base GIM di Chatel in Svizzera.

David ci ha insegnato sul filo a piombo che Dio mette sopra i nostri cuori per aiutarci a costruire i muri della nostra vita sul fondamento Gesù. Vivendo senza Dio abbiamo costruito dei muri per isolarci ed evitare di rimanere feriti dagli altri. Abbiamo usato svariati mattoni come l’odio di se stessi, l’insicurezza, la disperazione, l’ostilità, la testardaggine, il risentimento o tanti altri causati dal dolore provocato dalle figure di autorità della nostra vita (genitori, fratelli, insegnanti, ecc.).

Abbiamo anche capito che il peccato consiste in una ricerca di falso piacere che ci dia sollievo dal dolore.

Ora il nostro fondamento è nella redenzione di Gesù, il nostro muro di protezione è in cemento armato rinforzato dalla rivelazione, dal pentimento, dal perdono completo che accordiamo a coloro che ci hanno ferito, dalla rinuncia e dal rinnovamento.

Le giornate volano via tra lezioni, incontri vari, ministero e lavoro pratico! Siamo un piccolo gruppo molto attivo e sempre più affiatato. Ci sono piccoli malumori per cose di poco conto e per le quali mi sembra che tutti stiano cercano di migliorare. La verità è che questa SDD è quella con le ragazze più graziose e i ragazzi più forzuti di tutta GIM!

La settimana prossima avremo Giuseppe Restivo, responsabile della base di Pescara che ci insegnerà sull’omiletica. Conosco personalmente Giuseppe e lui è l’insegnante ideale per insegnare agli altri l’arte della predicazione.

Durante la settimana passata abbiamo avuto l’opportunità di esaminare noi stessi con l’aiuto di Dio e di lasciare alla croce quei risentimenti, quei dolori, quei peccati che ancora tenevamo nascosto. Abbiamo potuto dare e ricevere perdono. Lo abbiamo fatto come gruppo ed è stato un momento di benedizione incredibile. Abbiamo ricevuto perdono, guarigione e liberazione!! Una specie di nuova partenza con Dio. Questa condivisione ha rinforzato ulteriormente l’unità del nostro gruppo e sono convinto che Dio ci userà per benedire le persone che incontreremo.

Domenica abbiamo visitato la chiesa apostolica di Pescara Colli. È stata una giornata di ministero, comunione fraterna, nuove amicizie ed evangelizzazione.

Una benedizione pratica è stata la nostra festa “Love Feast” di venerdì sera. Barbecue e buon cibo, danze e allegria! Ci voleva proprio dopo una settimana cosi intensa in aula. Ci siamo un po’ lasciati andare e sono sicuro che il Signore ha gioito con noi.

The Divine Plumb-line (week 5)

My name is Philippe, I am French and have lived in Italy for many years. Being 47, I am the eldest among the DTS' students.
I have been collaborating with Youth With a Mission since October 2008 and the Lord led me to take these months for the DTS to improve my relationship with him, it is never too late!

The teacher for the past week was David de Carvalho, a Brazilian who ministers in the YWAM base of Chatel in Switzerland.
David taught on the Plumb Line that God puts on our hearts to help us build our lives on Jesus' foundations. Living without God we have built walls in order to isolate and avoid being injured by others. We put up several bricks as self hatred, insecurity, despair, hostility, stubbornness, resentment, or many others deriving from the pain caused by authority figures in our lives (parents, siblings, teachers, etc. ..)
We also understood that sin consists in a search of false pleasure to find relief from pain.
Now our foundation is in the redemption of Jesus therefore our concrete wall of protection is reinforced by revelation, by repentance, by renouncing our rights, by the renewal of the mind and by complete forgiveness that we give to those who have harmed us..

The days fly away with lectures, various meetings, practical work or ministry! Our group is small but very active and increasingly cohesive. There are just a few minor differences of opinions that everyone is trying to work on. The truth is that this DTS is the one with the prettiest girls and strongest boys in YWAM!

Next week we will have Giuseppe Restivo, Pescara's base leader, who will teach us on homiletics. I know him personally and he is the ideal teacher on the art of preaching.

During the past week we had the opportunity to examine ourselves with God's help and leave to the cross any resentment, pains, sins that we still kept hidden. We were able to give and receive forgiveness. We have done it together as a group and it was a time of incredible blessings. We have received forgiveness, healing, and deliverance! It was sort of a new start with God. Our openness in sharing has further strengthened the unity of our group and I am convinced that God will use us to bless the people we'll meet.
Sunday we visited the Apostolic Church of in Pescara Colli.. It was a day of ministry, fellowship, making new friends and evangelizing.

Our "Love Feast" was a great blessing on Friday evening. Barbecue and good food, dancing and fun! We needed it after such an intense week in the classroom. We relaxed a bit and I'm sure the Lord rejoiced with us.

Il Cuore Paterno di Dio (settimana n. 4)

Mi chiamo Alisha Curtiss e vengo da Vancouver, nello stato di Washington USA. Ho 21 anni. In famiglia siamo in nove figli. Mi piace molto girare il mondo ed esplorare luoghi nuovi. Il purè di patate è il mio cibo preferito in assoluto nel mondo! Dio mi ha chiamato alle missioni da quando avevo 19 anni e sono venuto a YWAM per avvicinarmi a Dio.

Mike Oman ci ha insegnato la settimana scorsa.. C'erano tre cose che ha detto nel corso della settimana che mi hanno veramente parlato, "La mia libertà è in Dio", "Osa rischiare" e "Perdonare significa guarigione."

Siamo rimasti tutti a bocca aperta dallo stupore a causa delle storie incredibili che ci ha raccontato Mike.

La prossima settimana l'insegnamento sarà sul Filo a Piombo Divino. La nostra scuola organizzerà anche un' “Agape” venerdì prossimo. Faremo un barbecue e ci divertiremo un mondo!

Dopo essere stata in questa scuola per 4 settimane sono po' sottosopra con tutto quello che abbiamo imparato. Dio mi ha parlato dicendomi "Riposati semplicemente ai miei piedi, sei mia figlia. Godi della mia presenza, getta i tuoi pesi su di me e mi prenderò cura di te".

Dio mi ha benedetto tramite gli insegnamenti di Mike. in particolare quella sul perdono. Sto facendo i miei primi passi nel cammino del perdono in modo che possa vivere la guarigione divina. È una cosa impressionante capire la realtà del perdono. Anche il mio team mi ha benedetto molto con parole di incoraggiamento e preghiere l'un per l'altro. I loro sorrisi e le risate che abbiamo fatto assieme mi hanno fatto del bene durante quest' ultima settimana con il nostro team. Sono molto grata a Dio per come ci unisce tra di noi. Tutti gli studenti e lo staff sono tutti così speciali. Dio vi benedica tutti!

The Father Heart of God (week 4)

My name is Alisha Curtiss and I'm from Vancouver, WA, USA. I´m 21 years old and I come from a family of 9 brothers and sisters. My favorite thing to do is travel around the world and explore new places and mashed potatoes are my absolute favorite food in the world! God called me to the mission field when I was 19 years old and I came to YWAM to grow closer to God.

This week's teachers name is Mike Oman. There were 3 things he said in the last week that really spoke to me, "My freedom is in God" "Take risks" and "Forgiving is healing."

Everyone´s mouth opened wide in amazement because of Mike´s unbelievable stories.

Next week´s teaching is called 'Divine Plumbline'. Our school is also having a "Love Feast" next friday. We are having a BBQ and it is going to be a BLAST!

After being at this school for 4 weeks I have been a little overwhelmed with all the things going on and all that we are learning. God spoke to me this week saying "Just rest at my feet as my daughter and enjoy my presence, lay your burdens on me and I will take care of you".

God has blessed me with Mike´s teachings, particularly the one on forgiveness. I´m taking my first steps to be walking in forgiveness so I can live in God´s healing. It´s an awesome thing to have more understanding of what forgiveness really is. I was also blessed by my team this last week by their encouraging words and prayers. I´m blessed by the smiles and laughter that was shared this last week with our team. I´m so thankful for God bringing our team together, they all are so speacial. God Bless you all!
